Award Eligibility & Categories
The competition is open to all ALCA members who have completed a landscape installation or ongoing maintenance project within the last year.
Award categories include:
• Residential Installation
• Commercial Installation
• Residential Maintenance
• Commercial Maintenance
How to Enter:
The submission process is now open for the ALCA 50th Annual Excellence in Landscaping Awards. We look forward to your participation!
Entry Cost: Early Bird $235/entry (Until May 31, 2026), Regular Pricing $250/entry (Until June 16, 2026), Late Fee $300 (After June 17, 2026)
Deadline: June 17, 2026
Submission Requirements:
Project Description (150 words): Explain the project’s requirements, results, and any challenges.
Site Plan: Attach a site plan on an 8 1/2” x 11” sheet, shading in landscaped areas.
Photographs: Minimum of 10, maximum of 25 photographs showcasing the work.
At least one vertical photograph is required.
Label one photo “Plaque” for display on the award.
Photos must be high-quality (1200 x 1800 pixels at 300 dpi) and unaltered beyond contrast/brightness adjustments.
By submitting your application, you grant ALCA permission to use any copyrighted photographs for promotional and educational purposes in ALCA publications.

Awards & Judging Criteria:
Submissions will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
80% Technical Criteria:
Judges will score the project based on technical execution, reading the project description, and reviewing photos. Scores will be assigned from 1 to 10 for each line item selected as part of the work performed.
20% Aesthetic Criteria:
Judges will assign scores from 1 to 10 for overall appearance, project complexity, and aesthetic value.
Awards Categories
Excellence Award: Projects scoring 90% or higher
Award of Distinction: Projects scoring 80% or higher
Judges Award: Projects scoring 70% or higher
Judges may award more than one prize in each category based on individual merit. All eligible projects are subject to an on-site visit, and the judges will determine the “Presidential” (Best of Show) and “Best Landscape Maintenance” awards.
Judging Period: June 2026
On-Site Visits: Coordinated in July 2026
