The Green Industry Scholarship Fund is dedicated to honoring the legacy of Sky Blu Underwood, a passionate individual who was heavily involved in our industry.
Sky was born and raised in Holbrook, Arizona. He grew up in and around the landscape industry and worked at AAA Landscape during the summers. He possessed a tremendous passion for beautifying the world with trees, flowers, and greenery.
Sky passed away at the very young age of twenty. Although he was unable to fulfill his dreams, this scholarship aims to empower and support individuals who share his dedication to the business of landscaping.
ALCA hosts a golf tournament annually in honor of Sky Blu Underwood. All the proceeds contribute to his scholarship fund.
ALCA General Scholarship Fund
The General ALCA Scholarship Fund is open to all ALCA members and their immediate families, regardless of their choice of academic field. The scholarship funds are available for those qualified individuals who wish to further their post-high school education.
Jim Trog Water
Management Memorial Fund
The Jim Trog Water Management Memorial Fund is established in honor of Jim Trog, a former ALCA Board member known for his expertise in water management. Jim served as the water conservation manager at Four Peaks Landscape Management and held certifications from the Irrigation Association as an Irrigation Contractor, Landscape Irrigation Auditor, and EPA WaterSense Partner.
This fund supports irrigation and water management workshops, ensuring affordable access for all students by subsidizing costs associated with their education.
